Get ready to be captivated and intrigued as we delve into my life of spirits and all things paranormal. Join me, your host Jay Lane, on he Laneway to Spirit, as I share my stories and personal experiences in the hopes of inspiring others to explore their own spirituality. Grab your favorite mug and settle in and let's get started. Have you ever asked yourself do things happen for a reason or is it just all a coincidence? Today I wanted to talk about my spiritual perspective on these two questions, because so many people ask me these two very questions quite often in my practice as a psychic medium. Now in life, we often find ourselves questioning the events that shape our existence, from serendipitous encounters to life-altering decisions. The interplay between fate and free will can both be very confusing and sometimes enlightening. Are these occurrences merely a series of coincidences or do they unfold according to a divine plan? This question may lead us to consider the possibility that our lives were charted long before we took our first breath. Coincidences occur when two or more unrelated events align in a seemingly meaningful way. These moments can feel extraordinary, provoking awe and wonder, making us reflect on the nature of our reality. It could be a chance meeting with an old friend or an unexpected promotion at work. That might be dismissed as simple luck, but many believe these occurrences might hint at a deeper connection to the universe. Is it really a coincidence? Some suggest that coincidences are the universe's way of guiding us. Perhaps they serve as stop signs or green lights along our journey, directing us towards a path that we're meant to follow. And in this light, what seems like random chance could be intentional cosmic nudges encouraging us to awaken to a deeper understanding of our purpose. From a spiritual standpoint, there's a belief that our souls choose their life paths before birth. In many traditions, this concept asserts that we design our own blueprint, a soul map that encompasses lessons that we want to learn and relationships we wish to forge. So, in this sense, everything that happens in our lives, from the mundane to the profoundly transformative, could be events orchestrated for our greater good. Imagine the idea that each challenge and joy serves as a purpose in our soul's evolution. Experiences that may seem detrimental or tragic could be essential for spiritual growth. By viewing our life experiences through this lens, we may begin to see patterns that reveal an intricate design, a thread binding our actions and outcomes into a cohesive narrative. Into a cohesive narrative.

Jay Lane:

I remember reading about Carl Jung, and he had introduced the concept of synchronicity, describing it as a meaningful coincidence of two or more events or phenomena that are not casually related but seem to be meaningfully linked. And in a world filled with chaos, synchronicity offers us a glimpse into the interconnectedness of all life, and it reminds us that every moment can hold profound significance. These random occurrences can evoke an emotional response, leading us to reconsider our beliefs about chance. When we experience synchronicity, we can feel a divine connection, a reminder that we're part of something greater than just ourselves. This notion complements the idea that, while we have free will, our choices, guided by higher forces, may lead us towards fulfilling the destiny we envisioned before being born. Since we wonder whether everything happens for a reason or if it's all just coincidental, it's essential to understand that both perspectives may coexist. While some events may feel preordained, others are undeniably shaped by the randomness, and I always suggest to my clients to embrace uncertainty. It could be so liberating because it opens us up to new possibilities and encourages us to lean into faith, trusting that the universe has a bigger plan for us, even when we can't see it. So it allows us to navigate our lives with curiosity instead of fear, inviting experiences that contribute to our growth and understanding.

Jay Lane:

Now I wanted to share the story of Ted. Now Ted had come to see me for a reading. It was a wild bat. He was very anxious and very hesitant, like he wasn't even sure he really wanted to hear from the other side, and so he was kind of shy, you know. His head was down and he says oh, Jay, thank you so much for seeing me. And he's, you know, trembling a little bit. So I tried to make him feel welcomed and relaxed and so I invite him in and I sit him down.

Jay Lane:

He says, Jay, I lost my wife a couple of years ago. She was my everything, the love of my life, my soulmate, my all. I miss her so much every day. And he starts to cry and of course, I'm on the edge of tears. So I said to him I'm so, so sorry for your loss, but I have to tell you I just had a vision. Can I, can I ask you a really stupid question? And he says, jay, there are no stupid questions, of course you can. So I said, Ted, you're going to think I'm off my rocker, but I just had a vision of you eating what looks like red pepper hummus on Ritz crackers Like you know, those orange crackers, if that makes any sense and in my vision I see 2.45 on the clock. That's on the wall behind you. So here's my question Did you have, in the last three days or so, red pepper hummus or red peppers on Ritz crackers at 245 am or pm? And he says oh my god, are you freaking serious right now, Jay? I had that just short of 3 pm yesterday, exactly that!

Jay Lane:

And so I thanked him for the validation and I said to him thank you, you know, I'm feeling this presence around you and I see through their eyes and she wants you to know that she's always with you, especially when you're snacking, and so I'm trying to reassure him and make him feel a little bit better. And she wants you to know that she's always with you, especially when you're snacking, and so I'm trying to reassure him and make him feel a little bit better. He says oh my God, jay, is there anything she wants me to know? I desperately want to hear from her. So I closed my eyes and I focused on connecting with her spirit, and then it came to me and so out of my mouth blurted she wants you to know that you're going to meet a woman who shares the same date of birth as her. She's bringing this woman to you into your life. It's not a coincidence, it's a sign from the universe that everything happens for a reason. And that was it. That's exactly what I said to him and he just looks at me like are you crazy? How's that possible? What does this mean? Are you serious right now? Is this what you're telling me? And I said yes, ted, that's what your wife wants you to know that she's sending you this woman to be into your life to help you heal and to find you happiness and for you to be happy, for her to be happy, and she just wants you to know that she's at peace and she wants the same for you. You need to start your life over.

Jay Lane:

I felt so much warmth and so here and now, we're both crying, and you know, but they were tears of hope at this point. They weren't tears of sadness, and he had so much gratitude and he thanked me and he left. Tears of sadness, and he had so much gratitude and he thanked me and he left, and I think he was feeling a very great sense of comfort and purpose, and so I didn't hear from him for a while. And then a few months go by and then Ted comes back to see me, but this time he's accompanied by a young woman who shared the same date of birth as his wife, who shared the same date of birth as his wife. And here they are, you know, they're introducing themselves to me and they're hand in hand. And it was so cute.

Jay Lane:

I couldn't help but smile, knowing sometimes, amid loss and grief, love finds a way to bring people together. And for Ted, for me, it was a reminder that everything does happen for a reason. Even the most unexpected and bittersweet moments of life's events are a mere coincidence or orchestrated by a divine plan and, remains a personal journey of discovery. But what's evident is that moments of connection, moments of growth and learning can be profoundly life-changing. And by embracing the idea that our journeys may be divinely guided, we open ourselves up to the magic of synchronicities and to the lessons that they bring. In the end, the journey itself may be the richest, most profound revelation of all. I'm so thankful for every single one of you. I hope you all have an absolutely beautiful week ahead, and until next time I'll talk to you again real soon. Bye-bye. Thanks for listening in. I hope you enjoyed today's Laneway to Spirit.
